Bank Holiday Weekend

Bank Holiday Weekend

This weekend has been wonderfully relaxing. Sam and I decided to have a fairly chilled out one as we honestly just felt we needed a rest. The last couple of weeks have been so busy. Sam has been playing his new PS4 game – Uncharted 4 and I’ve been tinkering with my blog. You’ll notice a nice new layout which I think looks much slicker! I’ll still be tinkering over the next few weeks I imagine.

No bank holiday weekend is complete without either a BBQ or a roast dinner. As this weekend wasn’t as sunny as we thought it was going to be; we had a roast. It was absolutely delicious. Sam makes THE BEST roast dinners whether thats chicken, lamb or beef they are the best. We had roast beef, which had been seasoned with salt, pepper, rosemary and sage, braised red cabbage (one of my faves), honey roast carrots and parsnips, the best roast potatoes and of course a yorkshire pud and stuffing. I know the stuffing isn’t traditional with beef but to me, a roast dinner is not complete without paxo’s sage and onion stuffing.

I was having a go at vlogging this weekend. It’s been a little weird to be honest and I feel like I haven’t done enough worthy of a vlog. So I’m unlikely to post the results but I would like to try and carry on filming little bits of my life. I remember being in my early teens watching Lost in Space; one of the character’s Penny used to ‘vlog’ into a little device on her wrist. I always thought it was so cool.

I’ve watched countless episodes of Sex and the City. Oh I love that series. I’m going to blog about it when I’ve completed the series. I know its old, but its a classic. Its funny as watching it when I’m actually 30 as opposed to watching it being a teenager gives a completely different perspective. Do you ever re-watch series? I do, not all of them but there are certain ones I have and episodes I love.

I hope you guys like the new theme. I felt that I needed something nicer looking and a little more intuitive. My previous theme felt chunky and I was becoming frustrated with it. I’d done a lot of research and looked at blog designs and previewed countless themes before settling on this one. I still have a lot to learn as its very different and much more customisable. But I’ve got it looking alright for the time being.

Oh and I discovered the tastiest nut butter I’ve ever had in my life. Pip & Nut’s Honey Cinnamon Cashew Butter. Oh yes. Honey. Cinnamon. Cashew. Butter. It’s sooo yummy! I’ve been eating it with a spoon! It was half price in Sainsbury’s so I sneaked it into the trolley. Oh my god. I wish I hadn’t! I can feel myself craving it already. I’m going to have it for breakfast on toast before work tomorrow. I wonder what else you could make with this? As a dip with some apples maybe? Could you use it as a satay sauce?Mmmm. I’ll have to have a think.

Anyway thats it from me.
